Roman

Hi, my name is Roman and I'm from Ukraine. If you are good at geography don't read the next sentence. Ukraine is in Eastern Europe between Russia and Poland and if you don't know it yet, SHAME ON YOU! I'm an exchange student and I will be studying at Willamette for a year.
The question I'm usually asked here is: What is different? Well, people, having spent a month on campus I can say that everything is different. Especially taking into consideration that we don't have campuses at all. The system of education in Ukraine is completely different (from the grading system to quantity of hours spent in the lectures). I like it better here since you spend less hours in the class.
I'm glad to take part in this project and to express an Ukrainian point of view on the issues given by LLC.

Martin Hitt

Hello, my name is Martin Hitt and I’m from Munich, Germany.
I was born in 1979 in Schwaben and I grew up in a small, beautiful city named Laupheim. At the tender age of 20 I moved to Munich, the capitol of Bavaria and of beer, to study mathematics and physical education at the TUM. Now I’m taking a brake for one year to be the language assistant for German here at the Willamette University. I’ve been dreaming for a while to spend a significant time abroad and now my dream is becoming true. Here everyone welcomed me in a very friendly way and they made my start really easy. My bosses at the German department take good care of me and I totally enjoy working with them and the students. I’m looking forward to having an interesting year here in Salem, I hope to make some new friends here and to experience many aspects of American culture.
So far so good, see you soon Martin.

Maria

Hi! My name is Maria Clara Duran. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Quito, Ecuador. I arrived to Willamette University a month ago as an exchange student. Right now I am in my senior year. I study Liberal Arts with a major in Anthropology. I am happy to be here because I have had the opportunity to meet people and to know more about American culture. I love to meet people from other cultures because it opens my mind to other perspectives of the world in which we all live. I hope, that as I am interested in learning more about your culture, you are also interest in finding out something about other cultures. During this year I will be writing about different topics from an Ecuadorian perspective. If you have any question or interest, please do not hesitate to contact me. It will be a pleasure to be in contact with you!

Rositsa

Hello! My name is Rositsa Atanasova (I will not blame you for not wanting to pronounce that!!!) and I come to Willamette from Bulgaria. It will be hard to add any other factual information about my country after Hristoуs exhaustive introduction, but I will try to at least bring a different perspective on issues, that Bulgaria despite its small dimensions in political and geographical sense, has a lot add for a broader international view due to its rich history and cultural traditions.
