Adriana from Ecuador - My super presentation

Adriana-ecuador.jpg Hi My name is ADRIANA and I capitalize to avoid confusions with the other language assistant from Mexico. I don't like ice cream and I'm afraid of chickens. I broke my right arm when I was two and split my lip when I was five. My favorite place of WU is the gym and Goudy because I can see my friends and laugh. I have a dog named Chucho who I miss a lot because he's as hyper as I am. I'm from Ecuador, the land where people can live longer than 100 years. I speak Spanish, English when I feel like it, French when I go to class, Italian when I don't want people to know what I'm saying, and German when I'm in a bad mood. I want to get married in Montreal to the person that can touch my heart just by looking at me. I hope you enjoy my articles! -Adriana

Misuzu from Japan

Misuzu-Japan.jpg Konnichiwa. Misuzu des. dozo-yoroshiku. Hello, I'm Misuzu. Nice to meet you. I'm a Japanese language assistant for 2006/2007. However, I may continue in this position for another year. I like Willamette University because it has a beautiful environment and with nice people. This environment is similar to the one in Albany in Western Australia where I was teaching at elementary school right before I came here. I was here 4 years ago as a TIUA student. So, you can guess how old I am.... I'm 24.

Natalia's introduction (Ukraine)

Natalia-Ukraine.jpg Hello!

My name is Natalia, but you can call me Natasha or Nataly, whatever makes you happy! The matter is, back home it's the same. Natalia is more official, though parents and friends prefer calling me Natasha. I'm from Ukraine. And, what is more important, I'm from Crimea, which happens to be the best peninsula ever found! Many people believe that we already became an island, as the part of land which connects us to the big land is really small and each year becomes smaller, though people artificially prevent the distruction of it, because there are railways and highways. Anyhow, I claim that it's absolutely impossible to visit Crimea and not to fall in love with it!

Asian, but 100% Russian Dmitriy Semeniakin

Dmitriy.jpg Hello everybody, my name is Dmitriy or simply Dima. I was born in a little country called Kyrgyzstan located in Central Asia. Even though I was born in Asia, I am 100% russian. First 14 years of my life i lived in Kyrgyzstan. Five years ago my parents and I came to the United States. It was one of the best experiences i have ever had. I felt like a newborn kitten in a big world. None of us spoke english and it was very hard for us to communicate, but we made it through.

Czech Republic - "The Heart of Europe"

Jan.jpg You would never guess that those contacts you put into your eyes every morning or the microwave in which you heat up your dinner originally come from this country. The Czech Republic is small. But it is full of history, natural monuments, music, art and cultural contrasts. Czech it out!!!

Markus - Bavaria (Germany) is calling - „Servus“ and Hello!

Markus Germany.jpg I am Markus, the German Language Assistant 2006-2007 at Willamette University. I come from Munich, Germany. Munich is the capital of Bavaria, a state in the south of Germany, where we have also a special accent of German. So “Servus” is our word to say “Hello”. Perhaps you know Munich because of the world-famous “Oktoberfest”, which starts in the mid of September and lasts till the first weekend of October. Every year about 6.5 million people are visiting this traditional festival.

Ella (UK, Hong Kong)

Ella-Uk.jpg My name is Ella and I’ll be your friendly UK/HK correspondent type-thing for a WHOLE semester. How exciting! I lived the first half of my life in the bustling city of Hong Kong (Chinese for, ironically enough, “fragrant harbour” – that’s with a u, people) and moved to Cambridge, the finest university town in all of England in 1997.

John (Kenya)

John.jpg Hello everyone. My name is John, and I come from Kenya. I am currently in my final year at Atkinson. I came to the U.S. roughly five and half years ago, and did my undergrad in another small university in Missouri. I grew up in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Kenya is in East Africa, and has a population of a over 30 million people. The political situation in Kenya excites a lot of attention, including from President Bush. The article below demonstrates this. Read more here
