Estonian establishes representations in Silicon Valley and Second Life

heiki copy.jpg

In order to attract investments, Estonia recently opened embassies in two unexpected places - in Silicon Valley and in the virtual environment Second Life.

According to Urmas Paet, the Foreign Minister of Estonia, "Second Life's popularity as an alternative environment for interaction has grown rapidly, which is why we decided to establish an embassy there." The first country to establish an embassy in Second Life was the island nation Maldives. It is expected that several other countries will follow.

At the same time a representation in Silicon Valley was established in order to connect business partners and draw investments to Estonia.
