Poritical situation of Japan

misuzu copy.jpg

Japan is moving toward a two-party system comprised of the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party of Japan. The international environment surrounding Japan has changed drastically in the last ten years. Juvenile Crime Education and Society - between Japan and the U.S.

misuzu copy.jpg A 14-year- old school boy horrified the nation by murdering two children and leaving the severed head of one of them outside the gate of school in Kobe. That crime was the newest and the most horrible thing to me when I was the same age as of the boy, and that is vividly reminded in my life. School crimes are tragically not that uncommon in the United States, but, in Japan, an attack of this nature and scale has never happened at a school. Although Japan is still one of the safest developed nations in the world, youth crime has dramatically increased in recent years.

"Carnaval" in Ecuador

lucia.jpg

It is surprising for me to be so close to a Carnival and hardly hear anything about it. In Ecuador, we get ready for Carnival a month beforehand. We have a whole holiday specifically for Carnival; this year the carnival will be from the 1st to the 5th of February. We don't celebrate our Carnival as in Brazil but in Ecuador a Carnival is less exclusive but a lot of fun.

India and the US

raution copy.jpg
India and United States are at the crossroads of international partnerships. In this regard, India and the United States could not be more alike. Although in economic terms India is only now experiencing faster economic growth, many of us are optimistic that this path will lead to the kind of vibrant and responsive economic structures that now support American markets.

Bulgaria's Trinity of Alliances

ivo copy.jpg

Just two decades ago, Bulgaria’s politicians praised it as the Soviet Union’s closest ally and American commentators condemned it as a slavish communist satellite. Now, the Cold War era of poisoned umbrella assassinations is over and pragmatism is the common denominator of foreign policy. Bulgaria, a transitioning country, places its faith in a trinity of alliances, in order to secure the country’s energy, defense, and socio-economic needs.

Kite Flying Day

14th January is the Kite Flying Day of India and many other countries. A kite is a flying tethered man-made object. Kites were first used by the military in ancient China over 3,000 years ago. The kite is said to be the invention of the famous 5th century BC Chinese philosophers Mozi and Lu Ban. By at least 549 AD paper kites were being flown, as it was recorded in that year a paper kite was used as a message for a rescue mission. After its appearance in China, the kite migrated to Japan, Korea, Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), India, Arabia, and North Africa, then farther south into the Malay Peninsula, Indonesia, and the islands of Oceania as far east as Easter Island.
