Things that help us dream!

Hi everybody!
It is almost the end of the semester, and everybody is working really hard to get good grades, and finally be done with this amazing school year. For this reason we thought that it would be a good idea to bring a topic that refreshes our minds, when times are hard.
Music, books or movies are usually things that we use to take us to different worlds and places where we can rest from our daily day chores and activities. These things usually help us forget our problems and let us dream for at least a couple of minutes.
In this issue, all the international students, one more time share the different books, songs or movies that help them dreaming.
Join -Yu, Jan, Jose, Olga, Jin and Luis- in this journey full of fun!

Vietnam

howie.jpg

I found some interesting Youtube links about Vietnam here.
The first one is an introduction of "Pho" - a symbol of Vietnamese cuisine - from Anthony Bourdain. For those of you don't know about Anthony, he's known for eating pretty much EVERYTHING and ANYTHING on Travel Channel. He also claims that the most disgusting thing he has ever eaten is Chicken McNugget. So yes, he doesn't fit into everybody's taste :)

Germany and the arts

indira.jpg

I find it very difficult to choose just one German book and film, because of the outstanding output in the arts – especially literature and philosophy – of the Volk der Dichter und Denker. To attempt simplicity, I will list the last two remarkable works I have come across.

Popular music, books and movies in Japan

yu.jpg

Hi~ How was everyone's spring break? I went down to L.A. for the Spring TaB, and protested against companies on the street. I lost my voice because of yelling too much during the protesting. After few days I was able to speak, but my friend said I sound like a 40 years old businessman. Now I got a lot better, at least I only sound like a 30 year old man. Improvement!

California Dreamin’

diana_border.jpg
A train that transports ammunition for a strategic American mission in Kosovo is halted for five days in a Romanian countryside station. The reason: the overly zealous, high binder railway chief requires presentation of the official paperwork for the delivery. Obviously, the papers have never been issued since no one thought that such a delivery would be questioned by a countryside railway chief.

Books, movies and music I would recommend

For writing this post I was trying to decide which book would I recommend people to read, and since most of the books I read are history ones was a difficult task.
