FAQ

globeX.jpgWhat is the Willamette World News?

It is a comprehensive webpage designed to give an international perspective on major issues, building on the human resources Willamette counts on as a liberal arts university. It also serves as a listing of international resources for students, faculty, and all those interested in information, international education, and language learning.

Who writes the Willamette World News?

Language Teaching Assistants and foreign exchange students who come to Willamette from many countries to contribute to the Willamette community. Their presence provides the community with an invaluable resource as a source of information and opinions from their home countries

How does it work?

Every two weeks, our contributors research their home country's newspapers for important issues, either within their country or internationally. They provide a short summary of the article, and include a link to the article itself. Then you read the articles, and come away with some new insight into foreign countries and cultures!

Who puts it together?

The project was initiated by and is maintained by the Language Learning Center. The LLC and the Hatfield library provides resources, publications and links. Academic departments at Willamette are invited to suggest articles and topics that are relevant to US news, world issues, and academic interests.
