A long overdue facelift to blog.willamette.edu is now complete. We’ve upgraded the server hardware and operating system, but our biggest change is that of adopting Wordpress as our new blogging platform.

Wordpress has grown to be the most popular open-source blogging platform. It has a large and healthy development community and will be much easier for us to maintain and keep up to date.

While we are not abandoning Movable Type at this time, all new development will be focused on Wordpress. New users should use Wordpress to create their personal blog.

Existing Movable Type users can continue to use their existing Movable Type blog, but should consider creating a new Wordpress blog and migrating any existing blog content there.

Those wishing to create an institutional blog should contact the Web Development office for consultation.

Click on the ‘Log in’ button under ‘Wordpress Links’ to the right, to log into Wordpress, which will automatically create a new blog for you.
