New E-Journals
The library's online access to journal articles published decades ago was just expanded with the addition of 88 journals available from the JSTOR database. Every journal that participates with JSTOR is searchable & retrievable, back to Volume #1. The bulk of this recent expansion is in the areas of Business, Education, Law, Psychology and interdisciplinary aspects of the social sciences.
Some examples of the deep timespans covered by these titles are "The English Journal" starting in 1912; "Milbank Quarterly" and its predecesors covering public policy since 1923; "Law and Contemporary Problems" since 1933, and "The American Journal of Psychology" since 1887!
Among the more than 600 journals that are available online from JSTOR, the oldest journal is "Philosophical Transactions" which has been focusing on biological sciences since the year 1665!
In addition, the library added 30 titles from Berkeley Electronic Press, in the fields of Economics, Law, Marketing, Public Policy and interdisciplinary aspects of the Social Sciences.
Hatfield Library provides access to this growing collection of online academic journals directly from our Journal Title Listing service, and through article level links found inside more than 100 databases which we offer to the Willamette University community.

New ILL Software
The library will begin using new software for Interlibrary Loan beginning the week of August 21. This will allow users more control over their requests, as each user will have their own account to keep track of what they have requested and each item's status.
More information will be available as we introduce the software.

Book Sale
The Hatfield Library has changed the way we hold the Friends of the Library book sale. Instead of a yearly event, we now have an on-going sale. The sale books are located on the first floor of the library, between the computers and the bound journals.
Paperback books are $1.00 and hardcover books are $2.00 unless otherwise noted.
For more information or to purchase books, check at the Circulation Desk.
