preparation and anticipation
Ahoj all! (Hello all!)
I have mentioned to many of you that I feel as though I have been planning this trip for another person; that it doesn't feel as though it is going to be me stepping onto an airplane in less than three days to travel to the other side of the world to build relationships, to live, to study. Nevertheless, I am at peace and as prepared as I'll ever be to take my first step into this journey, this adventure.
This past week I traveled down to Corvallis and Salem to say my last goodbyes to those of you in the Willamette Valley and to tie up a few loose ends. Sometime during that trip I realized that had I not had that trip to busy my schedule for a few days, I would have gone stir-crazy. It was great to see you all! I am home now, doing the same things. My mom and I are going hiking tomorrow, which I am quite ecstatic for, and then it's packing and last minute panic attacks (hopefully not too many of those!)
It is my goal to keep this blog or online journal or whatever it is you want to call it updated on what's going on in my life during these next few months. If it's been too long since my last entry, please send angry emails! Seriously. Many of you have asked for my address, and, due to the nature of my housing situation (we find apartments in the city when we get there) I don't currently have one, but as soon as I do, I'll post it here. I'll also post a phone number (if you really want to spend the cash, I suppose you could call...), but a better way to talk would be Skype! My Skype name is carisa.deethardt. I expect to hear from you. To be honest, I'm really bad at finding people on Skype...it doesn't really like me (either that or I'm just technologically challenged), so you finding me would help a lot!
Na shledanou! (See you later!)

Thank you for all you did for the kids at 1st United. May the trip bring to fruition the sweet awareness of your place in this world in making a difference. Keep smiling,
Chad
