{whirl blast}
A blasty whirl from the east
saw the remains of an opulent feast
where kings and maidens had dined
and leftovers were eaten by hungry swines
Oh but say it falsely! Cold winds from far ago
should never have come to show!

If you have ants in your kitchen, they are hungry or thirsty.
I grabbed the calligraphy box from the booth. It is on the table and ready to be picked up.
I also evaluated the ant issue in the room. After a short internet investigation, it is my opinion that the food is still good to eat as ants rarely carry disease, except sometimes in hospitals; and luckily the LLC, as a computer lab, is free of such inherent risk. These findings were verified by Ivo, who claimed that ants are well respected in Bulgaria, and many Bulgarian folktales actually discourage the killing of ants. I tend to trust cultural stories as many happen to be rooted in the truth. Please read this link if you would like further information regarding how to turn ant-problems into exotic pet-solutions.

Sascha's thursday entry
Hey guys. Today was really slow. Rebecca came in to look at Russian RS. I copied scrubs dvds using roxio (a really awesome dvd copying program!). Chris and Lucia are looking at a design. Alex was in here. Natalia was in and out. One girl is chatting on skype.
The scrubs dvds are located inside the big jewel case where all of the blank dvds are stored. There are four of them and they will be picked up by their rightful owners (I don't know when, I sent out the email to them). Also Arrested Development is burning right now on Computer A. Please let it be. When it is done, there needs to be 3 copies made. A girl is coming in later to claim the disc. That is all I know.

Post Party Party
For all who missed the exciting after the party, party...I stayed with the final spanish translation group, who had a few final problems with their project, which were thankfully ironed out after a few hours. The group's DVD is burning on Computer A, and should be finished come morning. Will whoever is on shift take it out and maybe check to see if it works in the morning? The group should be coming in tomorrow morning to check it out and pick it up, but as their presentation is at 9:40 am, I just want to be sure. Thanks.

Kelsey's Shift 7-9pm
The party ran over into my shift, and it was great! Lots of fun was had by all! And I got to listen to Alex talk about synthetic organisms...which was fascinating...oh, and we talked about work too. 8-)

Rather quiet shift, saw off the group going to Portland. A few people came in to use the computers, one person borrowed the Italian Rosetta Stone. A few people borrowed the external drives for the Spanish project, but used them in the lab. Karen is doing her tutoring in the small room.

Wednesday
If all the computers along the window wall suddenly turn off, it's because we've blown a fuse - just ask a maintenance person or a wits person to reset it. Seems to be happening a lot lately with the vacuums and stuff next door.
People here speaking Russian and working on the one remaining Spanish translation project. Natalia is collecting plastic dishes for the party tonight. Don't forget!

Chatted with the lovely Natalia about our party tomorrow!
Solemn Japanese tutoring is taking place
Kait is using Italian tell me more
One last thing peps, let's avoid getting the PIT key mixed up w/ our regular key
let's also try to remain adamant about not giving the key to people,
it gets misplaced and its tedium beyond reason to track it down again

Monday
Lots of people in working, on papers, skype, facebook, you know. I finally cleaned The Room, and Amy did the dishes, both needed improvements. The flood is still outwitting various members of maintenance, but the waters have not yet seeped into the LLC, which has the potential for disaster as many of our computers are very near to the floor. But I believe we will prevail.

monday
Room 17 is still very flooded, and it smells like snails.
There are a bunch of people here but it's pretty quiet - word processing, wikipedia, etc.
I let Rosemarie Maurer (german) into the viewing room to watch a movie at about 11 - I'm not sure how long it is.
If you have any special requests for food/drink for the party on Wednesday please let Natalia know.

Water's rising
Beyond rising water levels in yonder classroom (not our "own" Walton 21, thank goodness, but the one to our other side) it was a pleasant shift. The rhythmic slosh of the growing pool next door was calming, if you will. Oh yeah, and a Spanish Trans group burned their DVD, which is now sitting on the table, awaiting pick up tomorrow morning.
Word on the flood. Apparently the ground water is flowing in at a rate equal to that at which it is being pumped out. Hopefully the situation will have improved come morning.

weekends
Weekends are to cover up all the assignments of the week. or it is to relax and get ready for next week. Well, bit of both....Traffic at LLc was limited on weekends but few of them did came to work on their spanish project...It was definitely not one of the best weekends due to rain.
