--The original files for the groups I rendered are still on network storage. If the _output.avi files look good you should delete the large originals. They're in //home/span232/covarrubias

--Discovered that our favorite video encoding software (virtualdub) has a little-known modification (virtualdubVCR+sych) which supports scripted capture from our video capture hardware. This might be a nice alternative to the crappy pinnacle PCTV software we're currently running...

--Modified encoding script, now accepts an arbitrary number of files from drag and drop. However it still requires you to check off on the results from virtualdub before/after encoding.

--Finally finished the script, it's working on computer A. There's a shortcut on the desktop called "Encoding Script.js", just drag video files directly onto the icon and they'll be reencoded in their directory with the new filename name_output.avi.

Wends. 1400-1500

--Checked on the machines with broken PcTV. E, O, and I were just disconnected from the cable system, and worked when I plugged them in. O was connected to the AV cart in the corner, which I reconnected after testing. I couldn't get K or M to work. The problem probably isn't the PCTV config, as I copied the settings from a functional machine but they still failed.
--Somebody should check if the AVIs K is producing have sound, then we at least know if it's capturing correctly. We should also check if M gets a signal from a cable currently attached to a working machine.

--I'm a scrub...
--Worked on encoding video for classes. Adobe has terrible encoding capabilites, and produced massive files, so we need to find a way to re-encode for archive purposes. VirtualDub would work well for the avi processing, but we'll need to use the LAMEACM driver for audio encoding. I've stored the drivers/program in \\home\llc\asford.

--I've noticed some serious audio tracking problems with the VCRs in the classroom, this has been causing most of the problems w/ the FrenchNews. For the time being I've just set people up with the classroom projector if theRoom is being used.
--In addition I was unable to find the recorded video files on the corner machine, the directly previously posted only has a few old videos in it...
-Quiet shift otherwise.
