The Shift

-sth is wrong with the second part of the French tape from today, at least that is what one of the students said
-there were 12 messages on the phone, I think just one was worth considering so I left it on there, the others have been erased

Tuesday night

-the two CDs for Gaetano are in the cabinet on top of the CD spindle, they are not marked with anything, because I did not have any markers to write on them
-the Russian Movie is in the VCR closest to the door in the classroom, whoever is first tomorrow this time please take it out mark it with sth and put it in the cabinet

Tuesday Night

-all of the Chinese Integrated Audio 2 files have been converted from CD format to MP3s (I had lots of trouble doing this, so it is time for computer reimaging). The files are on the LLC drive which is completely full by the way, so if you can delete some files you do not need anymore that will be great. The files are in the audio_files folder under Integrated Chinese 2, so whoever is putting them on Blackboard tomorrow (ask Natalia about this) just look in our beautiful black cabinet where the original CDs will be located, there will be a sheet of paper with the names of all the files in a way you will need to name them while putting them on Blackboard
-I also put a new Seedwiki document about Skype and our new webcam, so if you are interested you are more than welcome to read it

Monday morning

issue 1: I believe I figured out the problem we were having on Sunday. I am not sure, but the file you probably were using was too big to be handled by Audacity through the drive. I found a file from the Buffy group folder which was about 600 Mb which is huge, so Audacity cannot handle it while trying to stream the audio through the drive. What I did was download the file to the hard drive of the computer I was using and it was working without any problems in Audacity, so I would advise anyone who wants to handle these big files to download them from the \\home\span365 drive to the hard drive of the computer they were using and then edit it and put it back on to the drive. This is the best solution I can think of. The other option is to cut the file into several pieces and work with them one by one. I hope this helps!

Monday night

I have been recording Amanda's tapes throughout my entire shift. There were 4 of them, I have already recorded 2 of them, and the third one is in the VCR. It should be done my tomorrow morning, please whoever is first tomorrow, rewind both tapes in the VCRs and record tape #4 which I will leave on the table. The first two are in the cabinet. The master tape goes in the bottom VCR and the blank one in the top one. You will just need to press record.
Project #2 for tonight was to work on some issues for the Dubbing Project. Natalia, I could not finish what you asked me for, but I did create a useful Word document with the name "Important Notes, which is both in the Dubbing class drive and on our LLC drive in "llc notes" folder. And by the way, the issue was the drive letter. For more info, please read my compilation. Have a wonderful evening!

I continued looking for some cool pictures for the German part of the website, but couldn't find much, because of the copyright issues. There were a couple of students who recorded their audio files for the Phonetics class. I also met with Prof. Goeury-Richardson in the afternoon to discuss what we should do about her SavoirDire audio files.

There will be a Spanish class in the LLC lab every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:30am to 12:30pm. For Anna, all the German pics are on the LLC share in a folder called Country pics, I have around 20, you can choose the ones you would like to include on the website, but I definately want the Trabant and the Beer granny. This is it!!!
