matt's tuesday shift
Dreamweaver has several personal vendettas against me. and I against Dreamweaver. But so far, dreamweaver is coming out on top. Anyhoo, i worked on world news pages, and occasionally helped the occasional lab user. all in all, one of my best shifts of april.
word,
mattimus.

wednesday night shift...
Dreamweaver kept having some viciously fatal hiccups, or something, because it kept quitting on me--anyhow, i wrangled it long enough to get me up some World News pages. now if only all the other writers would send me their articles, my world would be as keen as a peach.
i also had this idea: what if I helped Willamette create its very own record label as part of the Arts in Technology minor that is being made right now? maybe i could get a grant to make it happen, and we could work with bands in Salem, and the whole music scene here would be full of life and yeah! it would be awesome. that's all i've got.
peace,
mateo.

matt's tuesday shift
all along a tuesday bluesday, the little lab went loopy-doopy-doo, la-dee-da-dee-daa...and all the merry matties made a melody to sing, and it went loop-doopy,doo, la-dee-da-dee-da...
in other words, it was rather slow today. but that's okay; i was able to start on World News. And what a world it is, folks. truly spoken.
peace,
mateo.

friday shift
I disconnected a t.v. in the classroom, and put it in the lab in the corner. It needs to take the place of the t.v. that is currently set up in the corner--unfortunately, i had no time to do it as a german class came into the lab, and i thought i should probably stop bumping around--so perhaps kindra can do it?
sorry kindra--

i'm probably crazy or something, because there it was on
the desktop--i don't know---

Wednesday night shift
hello...sorry i didn't write last night----soy gran despistado---
the evening shift went smoothly--i loaded two more pages onto Willamette World News with great success (and with great help from the Amazing Hristo*) and there were a few folks in quietly working on computers or somewhat quietly listening to iTunes or whatnot.
also, i really dig the new table layout!
peace,
mateo.
*not to be confused with the Amazing Christo and Jeanne-Claude, that dynamic docent duo.

Tuesday afternoon
today, there were several thousand telephone calls from Natalia, but each was important in its own way.
Students came in to use the french tapes.
NOTICE: I did NOT put in the video tape for tomorrow, because a professor was coming to watch something. So whomever is working tomorrow, please make sure that the tape is in by 1:00 in the afternoon.
Willamette World news is up. Hristo, I am having a formatting problem with Dreamweaver--can I meet with you and have you brilliantly solve the problem in about fifteen seconds? thanks in advance!
i also got my groove on, in the usual fashion.
peace,
mateo.

Missing: World News Work Folder
I am missing a work folder on the workstation computer in the corner. It is titled something like "matt work folder" or "World News work folder" or something involving a combination of those two ideas---anyhow, it has documents for Willamette World News. Did anybody move it from the desktop? If so, can you tell me where it is?
peace,
mateo.

well, i tried to help profesora delgado configure her blog so that her Spanish 232 students can comment without her having to approve every single one---but failed. However, there still may be a way, and Natalia and Jo may prove most helpful in that department. more to come on that---

matt's first shift o' the semester!
it is very hip to use " o' " rather than "of."
anyhow, today, I wrote up a new instruction sheet for programming the VCR in the viewing room to record shows off the satellite television (and added it to the wiki site). I also put up a new sign in Walton 21 asking to please turn the projector off when not in use. I also made a sign labeling the classroom. I made a lot of signs.
peace,
mateo.

Hola!
today, i started compiling the new issue of World News. Send me your submissions, people!
Ahem...yes, that is what I worked on today. There were many students in the lab during my shift, some doing multicert stuff, others doing other things.
I learned that the schedules for the llc lab and for the classroom are online! just go to "LLC Info" on our homepage, and there it is.

today during my shift i started compiling the coming world news issue [get your articles in, people!!!]. I also tried to find some more pictures for the classics page, but with little luck. Zan, I have some on the teaching station computer, if you want to look them over. they are in a folder called "CLASSICS PICTURES." I thought it an appropriate title.

Matt's shift
Today, I helped some people with their World News article-hunting, and I also sent out an e'mail to everyone reminding them that their articles are due. Claudia Nogueira from the English department came in and talked with Natalia about a video-conversion-to-dvd project that will be going on throughout the semester. I think those are the relevant details--have a fine day, folks---

well, you all have discovered that in your e'mail inboxes as well, but yes, the first World News issue of this year is online and working. There were a few problems, mainly involving links to local copies instead of to the server files--anyhow, it is all taken care of.

Does anybody know how to un-enroll from a blackboard course? I could not figure it out---
anyhow, today I helped Jennifer Covarrubias with Audacity. She is goign to bring her Spanish class in this friday morning at 9:10--Anna, you work then I believe; they will probably want you to instruct them in how to use it, but i am sure you will do fine at that.
