Celebrating Halloween
By nkulande on Oct 29, 2008 in Argentina

This is going to be the first time I’m going to celebrate Halloween since it’s the first time I’m in the USA for this part of the year. This Irish tradition is only celebrated in some of the English spoken countries, but since it is celebrated in the US it is world famous. But in Argentina and south America they “refuse” to celebrate this.
In Argentina we have carnival (or carnaval during February) which is celebrated in different ways depending the area. In Gualeguay they have comparsas (which are teams of dancers and musicians) that compete against each others in the streets and normally last three days. Many people work during the whole year preparing costumes and the carts for the parade.
