New French Teaching Assistant !

Hello everyone !

My name is Fabien, and I’m from Lyon, France. I’ll be a French T.A. at WU until May 2012.

I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone here, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with me, either in person or by email (fpoete@willamette.edu).

I’ll write more on this blog a bit later, but I still wanted to say “hello”… A video will follow later tonight ! :)

I thought it would be a good way to say hi, since I consider that “vous connaître est une chance”. I’ll bring the song to the first class of “FREN 205: Basic Conversation in French” , for those of you who will be there.

Bravo pour la Smurfette alias Schtroumpfette et la perspective féministe!
Y a-t-il des animaux maléfiques dans cette BD?

Le seul animal maléfique dans cette BD est Azraël, le chat de Gargamel, mais il n’est pas très important dans l’histoire. Pas de Serpent, donc, à moins de considérer la Schtroumpfette à la fois comme première figure féminine et comme équivalent du Serpent.
En revanche, quand les Schtroumpfs décident d’accorder leur pardon à la Schtroumpfette, le Schtroumpf à Lunettes (“Brainy”) fait une référence biblique: “que celui qui n’a jamais schtroumpfé lui schtroumpfe la première pierre!”.
