this evening we’ll have our first “German Movie Night“. We’ll be watching the funny road trip movie “Im Juli (In July)” by director Fatih Akin. It’s going to be at Walton 235 starting at 7 pm. There will be some chips, juice and Gummibärchen. The movie will be in German with English subtitles.
Shy, lovelorn science teacher Daniel (Moritz Bleibtreu) meets dreadlocked, free-spirited street vendor Juli (Christiane Paul) in Hamburg when she sells him a sun-inscribed ring and tells him he’ll fall in love with a woman wearing a similar symbol. While Juli hopes she’ll be that woman, Daniel thinks nothing of it- until he spots her hitchhiking on the side of the road while he’s driving to Istanbul to meet with another woman.
