Crown Finds Miss Russia 2010

She is 18 and yes, she is a model. Her name is Irina Antonenko from the city of Yekaterinburg, right from the legendary region of the Ural mountains, where Europe meets the Orient. She won the title Miss Yekaterinburg in 2009 and was one of the leading models in a local agency.

With this victory and the title came the privilege to represent Russia in the Miss World 2010 competition, she won $100,000 and a right to wear the official crown of the competition for a year. She also received an educational grant she will be able to use towards a university degree after the year-long term of her as a professional beauty icon is over.
The two runners-up received the honorary titles of such as well as a right to continue their education in any university of the world for free.
The crown ended up getting as much media coverage, almost, as the competition itself….

The crown is made of white gold, speckled with 2.5 karats of garnets, round natural pearls of the highest quality and is adorned with…yes, diamonds. Altogether adding up to 1574 little expensive rocks, bottom line at 50.58 karats. This crown will be passed down from each winner to her successor.
Now we just sit back and wait. Although some Russian bloggers might have called her too skinny for a Russian standard of beauty, they still expressed their congratulations for her victory and well-wishes to her and family.
