The Doldrums

It’s one of those nights
That won’t quiet down
My head is too loud and my heart won’t slow down.
And my life’s not that hard
I’m just feeling sorry for myself
And that’s never pretty.
I just need to be here right now,
I just need you here right now.
My time is on their time
And their time goes too slow
And this kind of living ain’t my kind of life.
And a bus lit in black-light
Passes by my window
But it’s not filled with people at this time of night.
I just need to be here right now,
I just need you here right now.
I’ve never felt so helpless.
I’ve never felt this out of control.
I am different from you and that’s abundantly clear.
The warm winds make me worry
But the pink clouds that passed overhead said, “Girl, take it easy.”
It’s one of those nights
That won’t quiet down
The seagulls and dogs just won’t quiet down.
And my life’s not that hard
I’m just feeling sorry for myself
And that’s never pretty.
I just need to be here right now,
I just need to be here right now,
I just need you here right now.

Great site. I like the way you explain everything without using complicated terms.
