Where Am I?!

IMG_0492.jpg

The picture above might seem a little odd… While most pictures are of the beautiful places people visited while abroad, and Spain has many of those to offer, I chose this picture because I think it speaks volumes about my experience. Before going abroad, I had NO idea what to expect and needless to say I was in for a little shock. Adapting to a completely different culture is a really tough experience (especially when your host family is less than friendly)… I will never forget the first time I looked out of my bedroom and saw all my underwear hanging on the clothesline visible to EVERYONE. I chose this photo because it reminds me how much my experience abroad helped me grow as an individual… I came to not only love and accept but cherish the cultural differences I discovered in Spain, even if they did make me uncomfortable at first.
