Free Bicycles!

what are you looking at?
This is one of the free city bicycles I found in downtown Aalborg, Denmark. You put in a 20 kroner coin (about 4 USD) to unlock the bike from its rack, and then when you lock it back up at any of the racks in downtown you get your coin back. They’re comfortable to ride, easily adjustable, and they’ve got a basket and a bell on the front.
When I left, I was thrilled to be going to the land of free health care, paid education, and more than two political parties. Imagine my surprise to learn that not only did the government take good care of their citizens in the normal European ways–they also wanted to take care of the environment, and encourage their tourists and locals to do the same.
