Kamakura Daibutsu

This picture was taken at the Great Daibutsu in Kamakura. When I wasn’t in class, I spent a lot of time out and about traveling. I think these trips were actually one of the most valuable experiences I had in Japan. From planning where I would go by looking at interesting cultural and historical places, to actually going out by myself to travel and experience the area, it was a constant learning experience. If I had the chance, I would go back and spend even more time traveling. I can’t encourage people enough to just go ahead, take the leap, and get out there. Was I totally unsure of what I was doing sometimes? Definitely. Was it all an amazing experience and worth the slightly nerve-wracking moments? Oh yeah.
