The Voyage of the Daffodil

Of the five people in this picture, only two of them knew each other before that same semester. We may look like a closely-knit group, and we are, but the knitting took place quickly and utilizing yarns of many different origins. Portugal, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States are all represented here as we stand together on the good ship Daffodil, a tiny speedboat that gives cheap tours of the freshwater bay in Cardiff, Wales. Weekend traveling was only one part of what made this experience so valuable– back at our university in Leicester, England, the diversity of nationalities in our friend group provided us with a semester impossible to replicate or forget.
